135 - VILLA CN - Unifying a Family Home
When the current owners acquired this house in Lausanne, its layout was fragmented, the left and right sides of the ground floor functioned almost as two separate homes.
The challenge was clear: to transform a divided space into a unified and coherent family home.
We opened up structural walls, redefined circulation, and designed all the bespoke carpentry to bring flow, clarity, and warmth. Existing stairwells were closed off, new large openings were carved into the masonry, and light was introduced as a guiding element throughout.
In just three months, during the summer break, the house was reimagined from within merging spaces, connecting functions, and creating a continuous living experience where fragmentation once ruled.
